The two RIPTIDES split 7 inches with the DWARVES and the QUEERS are now available. Both are limited to 500 and come on fancy swirled colored vinyl. These will never be re-pressed. Once they are gone, they are gone for good. It is highly likely that these will be sold out by the end of the month, so if you are a vinyl collector then get these collector items before it’s too late.

The vinyl for THE QUEERS’ “Grow Up” is in! This is the Interpunk exclusive, limited to 100 copies on yellow vinyl. The rest will be on black vinyl.
The Queers have seemingly been around forever. They may well forever be the most juvenilely offensive bands in the punk rock scene. All of this is intentional though, and, after several times hearing the band, they almost become charming in an innocent sort of way.
This sounds pretty strange, but that’s kind of who the Queers are. They come from an era of music when the easiest way to get attention was to be as abrasive as possible. Of course, the Queers were never really about garnering attention (for the sake of anything anyway), they just happen to be abrasive in general, and, if it happens to get them noticed, that is great.

The Queers are playing tonight at Bottom of the Hill, SF and tomorrow at The Blue Lagoon, SC (21+)
See you there…
Singer/guitarist Joe King‘s most endearing asset has always been his ability to effortlessly craft delicate Beach Boys-style melodies and deliver them in the deliciously immature nasal snarl of a Black Flag or an Angry Samoans. Back to the Basement, the tenth studio outing Joe’s helmed with his band the Queers, finds King’s songwriting magic still intact but sadly worse for wear. The patented pop punk zest that propelled this group through the Green Day ’90s (present even on their last surprisingly sunny effort, 2007′s Munki Brain) is all but absent here; sounding rushed and tired, Back to the Basement comes across as the punk equivalent of last night’s homework quickly scribbled out on the morning bus ride to school.
Here is the current list of bands that have confirmed so far…
MU330, SLOW GHERKIN, THE QUEERS, THE APERS, SHINOBU, THE HOT TODDIES, THE WILD, MONKEY, SHORT ROUND, KEVIN SECONDS, BUCK-O-NINE, UNSTEADY, GRANT OLNEY, READY THE JET, MIKE HALE, CLASSICS OF LOVE, THE SAINTE CATHERINES, O PIONEERS!!!, PTERADON, HARD GIRLS, DAN POTTHAST, BOMB THE MUSIC INDUSTRY!, LAURA STEVENSON, MIKEY ERG, BAGHEERA, BRENDAN KELLY, TOYS THAT KILL, FOR.THE.WIN., THE CHINKEES, ANDREW JACKSON JIHAD, THE LAWRENCE ARMS, SUNDOWNER, SLAPSTICK, KEPI GHOULIE, SPRAYNARD, RATASUCIA
It would probably be a good idea to bookmark this post until an official one gets up on the Asian Man site. This list will be updated frequently as soon we get the word. We’ll keep you posted!
The Queers are back at it again with their highly anticipated album, “Back to the Basement”, released on Asian Man Records. The album jumps right into a surf punk, Agent Orange-esque instrumental that sets “Back to the Basement” on the right path. The next song, the title track, displays the Queers doing what they do best- the Ramones-style,catchy pop punk; this can also been seen in tracks such as “Outta My Skull”, “Everyday Girl” and “Tit Fuck”. The band also provides fans with a cover of Black Flag’s “White Minority”, capturing the song with the vigor and spunk that makes it an outstanding cover. Songs that mesh well with the Black Flag cover are “I’m Pissed”, “Pull Me Out of It”, and “I Knew GG Allin When He Was a Wimp”; these tracks illustrate an angry, raw Punk rock sound that listeners will be pleased with.
“Back to the Basement” proves to be similar to their second album, “Love Songs for the Retarded”. It has everything a good album should- variety, catchy lyrics and riffs, and a Punk rock attitude. Although it’s not too different from anything the Queers have done, its a nice addition to their discography and fans of the group will not be disappointed with this album.
THE QUEERS, THE APERS, SHINOBU, THE HOT TODDIES, THE WILD, and MONKEY will be joining MU330 and SLOW GHERKIN this June!
Apologies for the late updates. More bands to be announced…
