So the word has gotten around in the past few days, but here is our own announcement on the Asian Man tumblr!
From Mike’s last newsletter:
Ok….. SO….. ASIAN MAN turns 15 next year. Shoooootzzzz.. . that’s a long time I’ve been doing this. Even though it feels like I just started this recently. Anyways, I guess that’s a good thing that it still feels fresh.
So what does this mean? Well, here’s what I have planned.
On June 16th, 17th, and 18th we’ll take over two clubs in San Francisco, California. THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL and THE PARKSIDE. Both clubs are located on 17th street and only a 5 minute walk apart.
We will have shows going simultaneously at both venues on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. We’ll do the wristband option for the whole weekend so you can bounce back and forth to both clubs and we’ll also sell individual tickets to each show.
I am trying to get every single band that ever put a release out on asian man to participate. And yes, I realize that will be impossible, but I’m going try and pull some miracles. Wish me luck. I’m excited to say so far I’ve gotten MU330 to commit to doing this and also the almighty SLOW GHERKIN. But yeah, I’m seriously going after some bands that you will freak out if they commit.
These are small clubs too. Both are only around 350 capacity spaces, so we’ll have a great atmosphere for every show. And it will be in the best city in the whole wide world. SAN FRANCISCO!!! YAY!!!
Basically, I’ve just started contacting bands, but I expect at least 50 bands. Each week I’ll update the bands confirmed to play, but yeah.. just wanted to get the word out there and I’ll keep you posted on all the goodness to come.
Be well.
Peace, mike park
There you go. Mark your calendars. We’ll work hard to make this special for you guys. Keep your fingers crossed for lots of big reunions, not to mention all of the incredible acts that are still active and touring. In the mean time, what current bands or reunions would you love to see?

ALKALINE TRIO at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz, CA
Catch them tonight in Oakland, you Bay Area folks!
SO YES! Saturday, October 23rd. 3PM! IT STARTS AT 3! We may have GIVEAWAYS!!! All bands are AWESOME!!!! And we haven’t played a show in Brooklyn (as Bomb) for like, three months? I don’t know. See ya there!!!
HERE is the facebook event page!!! Also, follow Laura and the Cans if you don’t already.
Hey, so 350 or so people said on Facebook that they will be attending the Bomb the Music Industry! Blue Album / Pinkerton show at Silent Barn. Silent Barn is a great place in New York City, but it is also a house which means 350 people can’t fit inside. We are going to do our best to accommodate everyone who wants to go. Here is a message from Silent Barn with WHAT TO DO IMMEDIATELY if you want to come!
Obviously 337 (or whatever number is up there when you read this) people can’t fit in our house, so we have to sell tickets. It’d be fun to sell them in person, but it sounds like a bunch of you are from out of the city. I did some research, but ticketing apps, credit cards, and all that junk sucks [Jeff adds: they all steal yo’ money!!!]. So here’s the deal:
Email SILENTBARN@GMAIL.COM if you’re planning on coming. First 150 email addresses get tickets held for them. NO ONE ELSE CAN GET IN.SO JUST TO BE CLEAR! There will not be tickets at the door, but RSVP’ing means you’re set and if 350 people are seriously coming to this show, we will do whatever is possible to accommodate everyone! Thank you and see ya!!!
