Hey Gang!
So, yesterday I mentioned that we would have some news to share. Here it is:
WE”RE GOING ON ANOTHER TOUR
The tour will be done in two 3-week legs, the first one covering the West coast, some Midwest, and some CANADA!!! The second will cover the South, East Coast, some more Midwest, and MORE CANADA!! Today we are going to talk about the first leg:
We are incredibly lucky to be touring with Laura Stevenson & the Cans and ROAR for this leg, and we look forward to hanging out and playing music with them for three weeks.
We are going to be touring with a full band this time. We have enlisted 3 of our amazing friends who played on Knife Man to come help us out live, they are Deacon Blue Batchelor, Owen Evans, and Preston Bryant. These guys also make up %75 of ROAR (hint, Ben is the other %25). Worry not though, purists, we will still play plenty of songs as an acoustic 2 person band for a portion of the set.
One last thing, we are currently assembling a new collection of songs that we have released but are now out of print or hard to find. Fingers crossed that this will come out by the tour. I think we can do it.
A few notes about the shows:
-> Before our 21+ show in Seattle, we are working on finding a place to do an all ages matinee show
-> We are ever grateful to be sharing the stage in Omaha with the amazing Cheap Girls
-> The show in San Diego is a benefit for the Che Cafe
Thank you for reading, we will have ticket links and the second leg up very soon.

In October, while we were on tour with Frank Turner, we were granted the delightful privilege of recording a Daytrotter Session at Big Orange Studios in Austin, Texas! Here is the product of that session. We owe a big thanks to Sean Moeller, Frank Turner for playing piano on our Neil Young cover (Roll Another Number for the Road), Johnnie Cluney, and Sam Patlove. Here is the link!
The Li’l Depressed Boy #7 is in stores now!

Hi gang!
Sorry that we haven’t been in touch lately, we have been preparing ourselves for the massive tour we are about to embark on with our new pals Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls and Into it. Over it.
Our new album is going to be officially out soon, and has already arrived in the mail or on the internet for some. Here are some kind and very thoughtful reviews:
-Java Magazine review by Mitchell Hillman! Part 1. Part 2.
The good folks at Alternative Press have also reviewed the album and gave it a pretty dope rating (4 out of 5 stars!), but I can’t find a link on the ünterwebz for that one yet.
If you happen to come across any cool reviews of the album, feel free to email them to us at AJJPHX @ gmail.com.
If you are interested in ordering our album, feel free to do so at Asian Man Records, and if you are interested in seeing us play a rock show, feel free to skim the dates below, we’re gonna be on tour in the US and Canada really soon!

Ben and I have been comics readers since childhood, and although we didn’t know each other then, our taste in comics seemed to follow a similar trajectory. Our mutual love of comics began, as many do, with Jim Lee’s run in Marvel’s X-Men. Following that, our paths led us to Image Comics, Ben with Rob Liefeld’s Bloodstrike, and I with Jim Lee and Brandon Choi’s WildC.A.T.s. Arizona resident Todd McFarlane’s Spawn was a revelation to me, and I managed to hold on to the first issue until the winter of 1995, when I sold the issue to a classmate named Sterling for 12 dollars. Through Spawn I discovered Neil Gaiman’s Sandman and through Sandman I discovered DC’s Vertigo imprint, which traded superheroes for paranormal thrillers like The Books of Magic, Hellblazer, and Preacher (a favorite of Ben Gallaty’s). These books along with Nate Powell’s Swallow Me Whole, and the works of Jim Mahfood and Will Eisner ushered me into adulthood and reinforced in me the belief that comic books are a diverse and beautiful art form.
The comics of S. Steven Struble continue a rich tradition of personal narrative that was pioneered for comics by the likes of Eisner, Pekar, and many others. The beauty of these “everyday, slice-of-life” comics is unique perspective offered by every writer . The emotions shared in these comics are immeasurably human and instantly recognizable, and no one does it better these days than S. Steven Struble’s Little Depressed Boy. It is an honor that our music is a part of this writer’s life, we are very excited to be included in this beautiful piece of art.THE LI’L DEPRESSED BOY #7 story S.
